The CalMac ferry takes around 35 minutes and offers a comfortable crossing with stunning coastal views. It accommodates both vehicles and foot passengers, and docks right in the heart of Rothesay, Bute’s main town. Once you arrive, getting around is easy. Rothesay is very walkable, and taxis are readily available just outside the ferry terminal. The island is also served by a reliable public bus network, making it convenient to explore Bute without a car.
